My friend Heather..the next Barbara Walters.

My friend Heather recently got asked 5 "interview" questions by her secret blogger boyfriend. I really like this concept for a post because its easy and fun and its not annoying. You aren't answering stupid questions like what time is it and what kind of socks you are wearing. I enjoy the Internet "questions" once in a while but for the most part I find them LAME with a capital L. I think this is much more fun. For anyone who would like me to interview them please send me an e-mail and I will e-mail you five questions. The rules are:

1. I pick the questions and you answer them. Its a pretty simple concept.
2. You will update your blog by answering the questions.
3. You will include an explanation and offer to interview someone else in the same post. You cannot interview me again.
4. When others comment asking to be interviewed you will send them five questions.

Sounds easy enough so let's get started with question one which has been *censored* to protect the innocent.

1. Your love for Peeps is well documented. Explain to your readers why you love those nasty little b#$@!@#@? (original question has been censored)

I love Peeps. It is true. How can you not love them? I am unsure exactly where the love came from or where it started. Maybe my parents could enlighten us on this subject. I think they are tasty. I am well aware that they are mostly sugar with no nutritional content whatsoever but I really don't care. I love them regardless. I am also a Peeps Purist for lack of a better term. I really don't like the flavored Peeps and I really love them around Easter. It is weird to me that Peeps can be any shape or color of the rainbow now. Eating Peeps shaped as Christmas trees seems wrong to me when they really should be bunnies or chicks.

A few years ago my dear brother, let's call him Beefie, sent me a whole HUGE Peeps Easter basket. I loved it. It had a huge stuffed purple Peep and about 5 packages of Peeps. I also got a large chocolate egg with a Peep inside. I was in heaven. How can you not like a candy that has its own website?

2. If you had to do life all over again, what would you do differently?

This question always makes me pause and think about my life. While I don't want to live with regrets there are a few things that I would change if I could go back in time and do so.

I wouldn't have been so shy in high school and maybe done musical theater instead of just choir. Although I LOVED my time in choir and I will always cherish those memories all of my life.

I wouldn't have made some of the choices I made regarding romance. Enough said.

But I would also like to say that I have had a pretty amazing life so far. I have wonderful parents who love and support me AND they still love each other which is just as important. I have 2 sisters and a brother who are my best friends. I also have other friends who are important to me as family..who ARE family. I have good health considering I am coming up on my 10 year anniversary of a kidney transplant. I have a strong faith and conviction in the Lord which blesses my life daily and I have a great job. What more could I ask for?

3. Your Ten Year Kidney Anniversary is this year. How would you like to celebrate it?

I am assuming that this question has no monetary limit so I am going to answer it that way. I would get a private island and invite all my family and friends, all the doctors and the nurses who helped Liz and I during the transplant. I would also invite my dialysis nurses because they helped me to get healthy enough to have a transplant. There would be various activities for those who liked the water and those that didn't. There would be times when everyone would get together like at dinner and enjoy being in each others company. We wouldn't have to worry about anything and we would have our every need catered to. I think that would be awesome!

My other choice would be to spend it with my immediate family doing something we all love. My family really gave me the strength to deal with kidney failure, the subsequent dialysis and the transplant. They are great!

4. What do you miss the most about life in the Singles Branch? What do you miss the least?

For those of you that don't know what a Singles Branch is let me educate you. In my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are congregations that are entirely made up of young single adults. This gives everyone a chance to date people and hang out with people their own age. And possibly graduate and get married or choose to go to the family ward. Once you reach the ripe old age of 31 then you are required to go to the family ward once again. I kicked myself out of the singles branch when I was 29. I was glad I did it then.

I miss the relationships that I had with everyone at singles. I miss getting together with people and having people to relate to. Even though the people in my family ward are near or younger than me (and older too) they have kids etc etc. So being in the singles branch is nice because you can relate to those around you. I miss the fun times we all had together. I could probably write a blog about some of the crazy things that I did with Heather and our "group" when we were younger.

I don't miss the constant drama of who likes who, who is dating who and who hates who. Its all a vicious cycle and its very hard to remain immune from all of the drama. My last calling in the branch (before I kicked myself out..see paragraph above) was the Relief Society President. This means that I was the leader of the women in the branch and I was also in charge of any welfare needs for all of the branch members. It was a big calling and I had a lot of responsibility but that wasn't the hard part. The hard part was knowing too much information about everyone! Goodness. I don't miss that at all.

But having said all that I really loved my time in the singles branch and I learned a lot from the people I met there.

5. Why do you love Heather so much??

I love Heather because she is a fierce friend. She will be loyal to you forever..if you don't cross her. She loves me unconditionally all of the time and I love her. She is very goal oriented and knows what she wants out of life. I admire her for her strength in the face of the situation that she was born into. I admire her for the things that she has taught me. I love being her friend and I hope she can say the same.

Well, that's it for my interview. E-mail me if you want me to interview you. Happy Interviewing!

On a completely different subject: I checked just now to see if you have an Amazon wish list. There's one for someone with the same name as you, but with no identifying information. Some of the books look pretty good, but judging by The Alphabet of Manliness and a compilation of political rock songs, I'm thinking this isn't yours.

I could be wrong, of course. I mean, I guess the Alphabet of Manliness could come in handy, right? And if not, at least it's a fun title to display on a shelf! ;-)

Anyway. Yeah, wish lists are handy.

...as long as you don't cross her.

That made me LOL.
