Going Paperless

Since my Dad got his Nook I have been contemplating going paperless but I was afraid I wouldn't like it as much as reading an actual book. I was worried that it wouldn't feel the same or I wouldn't have the same experience as holding an actual book in my hands.

Well my friends, I was wrong.

I received a Nook from my parents for my birthday and can I just say how much I. LOVE. IT.? It is one of the best things I have ever had. I can shop and download books so easily now that it is scary.

Reading in bed has become more comfortable and enjoyable. I am looking forward to taking this slim volume with me on the cruise and not the typical 4-5 books I have to take on a vacation.

All in all, thumbs up to e-readers. Everyone was right.

Oooh!!! I knew you would love your Nook. I love mine...been reading a lot more since I got it. Having one has also inspired other nurses to get them as well.

The best part...we can share books!

But! But! The paper! The crack of a newly opened hardback spine! The visual satisfaction of years of accumulated reading lining your shelves!

I've never actually held (let alone used) an e-reader, so maybe there is something about them I'm missing, but I'm still firmly planted in the traditionalist camp.

I'm still in the real book camp with RCH. (Go Team Traditionalists!)
I also balk at the cost being the same or more as buying the real book. Ray really wants one...but I am mean and will continue to force him to check them out of the library for free. :)

I felt exactly the same way. Why would I want to read a little screen? But then I got a nook and I love it. So nice to have many books in on little place. Plus our public library has a program where you can "check out" digital books onto your nook. It is great. Enjoy yours.

I love my Kindle as it has opened up the world of reading for me again. the one bad thing is that now Jim has discovered it too and he has downloaded all kinds of knot books on my Kindle. :)
