On Friday I went and did some work in my Dad's office and it felt good to be out of the house and accomplishing something. His old boss had left boxes of files that were duplicates and every e-mail the man had ever written or received. They are having a shredding company come on Friday so they want to get rid of all of this. My job was to take all the stuff out of the folders, take off the paperclips (there were a LOT of paperclips..and the tiny paperclips which are a pain to get off), and pile the paper in an unused cubicle. I emptied about 8 or 9 boxes of just papers. I also reorganized their file drawers and took some files out for storage in file boxes.
I also learned that this week when I go back I will be finishing the project of getting rid of the old boss's papers. There are only 21 more boxes to go. I don't think this guy had ever heard of a hard drive before.
But at least its work.
One of Dad's co-workers knows a lady who works for a company that provides doctors to hosptials or clinics around the country..like a temp agency for drs. So I sent in my new and improved resume which I like a lot better and I got an e-mail address to follow up with the guy who got my resume. Sounds like an interesting job. So we shall see.
